“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.”– – Alan Watts
There is an old parable about a group of blind villagers who never came across an elephant before. Each touched a different part of the elephant’s body, but only one part, such as the tail, ear or tusk. Each one then describes the elephant based on his limited experience. Of course, much confusion followed.
In some ways, I believe we’re much like those villagers. Each experiencing this changing world based on our limited experiences. There is much confusion and fear of the unknown. This is where your leadership is most important! Remember, employees need you to continue to build trust, show compassion, demonstrate stability and to provide hope for the future. You are the person who can help employees see as much of the elephant as possible.
As I’ve done for the past four weeks, I will be hosting a Leader Online Happy Hour this Thursday, April 23rd. Because the topics have been guided by what the leaders want to discuss… the conversations have been excellent!
You are welcome to join us this Thursday. If interested, please click on the link below to register.
